I am looking to build a small widget that produces speed limit warnings. Does the TomTom Android SDK allow me to get access to this information? I dont actually need full mapping - i just need the speed limit data and ideally i want that data on device (limit network calls). Can anyone direct me to docs and pricing for what this will cost me?

At the moment TomTom Android SDK does not provide speed limit information.
To get speed limit information you can use Snap to Roads API or Reverse Geocoding service.
“ideally i want that data on device” - that sounds like a navigation case. Terms and conditions do not allow to store such data. You can contact sales for a custom contract or probably other product that would suits here.
