Point too far from nearest existing segment issue

Hi,

I am trying to use the flow segment api to get the congestion data for at a city level however when I send the request the API returns an error saying “Point too far from nearest existing segment”. I am not asking for unusual locations (in this case Shanghai - coords are 31.224361,121.469170). Does anyone know what is going on here? Thanks very much for your help.

Unfortunately we don’t provide traffic data for China.
You can check the market coverage here

Is there a way to access the data shown on the traffic index website (https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/traffic-index/shanghai-traffic) for Shanghai?

Hi,

I’m having the same issue here. The segment I am trying to call is: [40.2886, 23.2978]
There is no problem for segments very close to it, so I don’t understand what does exactly this error mean.
Can I overcome it?

If there are not enough data to define Traffic Flow then the segment is not defined.
I just checked now on MyDrive and don’t see Traffic Flow for this place.
