Error performing geocode

We are receiving an error when performing geocoding, please see the screenshot from the javascript console

Any ideas?

That could mean that:

  1. the api key is invalid
  2. the api key used does not support that service; Under my account in developer portal, check what products you selected for that key.

For geocode use the Search API key.

Nope, the account / key is set up correctly as we have customers using this. It seems to happen intermittently for example with different addresses it works and from some others (as above) it doesn’t.

For example if I use the following text as a query I get the error:
WEST THURROCK COACHWORKS LTD, MANOR WAY IND ESTATE, CURZON DRIVE, GRAYS, RM17 6BG- CLOSE @# 17.00

but if I clean it up a bit to the following it does work:
MANOR WAY IND ESTATE, CURZON DRIVE, GRAYS, RM17 6BG

We can’t ask our customers to tidy up the addresses as this used to work with the Google solution.

Yes you are right, there’s an issue with the URL encoding internally causing this issue. Removing the # will fix the issue on your side for now. We will try to have this fixed in the next release.
